314-3867 Donald is a shareholder in Lovoy, Summerville & Shelton, P.C. and is responsible for providing tax services and business consulting services to our clients. A native of Brewton, Alabama, he is a 1990 graduate of Auburn University. Donald received his CPA certificate in 1993. Donald began his career in 1990 with an international accounting firm as a tax staff. He was promoted to Tax Manager in 1995 and Senior Tax Manager in 2000. In September 2004, Donald joined Lovoy, Summerville & Shelton, P.C. as a partner. During his career, Donald has served not-for-profit organizations and companies with domestic and international operations. He has served public and private companies in the manufacturing, retail, distribution and financial services industries. His responsibilities included tax return compliance, tax controversies, accounting methods, mergers and acquisitions, state and local tax legislation, FAS 109, and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley. Donald is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants. He serves as President of the Auburn University School of Accountancy Advisory Board, is a member of the Auburn University College of Business Advisory Board, a member of |
the tax committee for the Business Council of Alabama, and is a member of the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce Finance and Taxation Committee. He previously served on the Professional Advisors Committee for the Business Associations Tax Coalition. His civic responsibilities include being a member of the Monday Morning Quarterback Club and serving on the Men's Committee for the Service Guild of Birmingham. Donald is active in Mountain Brook Athletics serving as a football and baseball coach.
